Position Overview
WFXT has an immediate opening for a Production Technician. The successful candidate’s duties will revolve around Broadcast Operations in a fast-paced Live News environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct newscast with Automation
Use NRCS and Automation software to code and style shows
Execute newscast via automation
Communicate with reporters for live shots
Keep timing of show segments
Operate Robotic Cameras
Operate Jib
Help talent with Mics and IFBs
Direct talent as needed in studio
Minimum Qualifications
Previous experience in a Broadcast environment, ideally in an operational role
Great attitude and proven ability to work well in a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to handle last minute changes in breaking news scenarios
Willingness and flexibility to assist in whatever role and/or shift is needed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience Directing a newscast and handling all coordination that comes with live news, such as organizing and incorporating a wide mix of broadcast components (satellite feeds, interviews, breaking news, server playback, advanced graphics systems, etc.) into each program
Familiarity with Control Room Automation. Ross Overdrive or Sony ELC a plus
Experience with iNews or comparable Newsroom systems
Familiarity with Chyron or similar Graphics systems
Familiarity with Prompting systems
Experience with Robotic Cameras
Familiarity with different Audio Boards
The hourly rate range for this position is $20.49 to $30.00.
