The Maritime Business Development & Operations Intern will support both the Business Development team and the Operations team in advancing key initiatives for the Port. This role offers hands on exposure to port operations, vessel activity, customer engagement, and strategic commercial projects. The intern will assist with port tours, research, presentations, and business development efforts, while also gaining experience on the vessel operations side.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Port Operations Work alongside the operations team to observe and support vessel operations and terminal activities.
Help with special projects related to terminal efficiency, customer service, or operational improvements.
Assist with documenting operational processes and gathering data for performance metrics.
Support coordination between operations and business development teams on cross functional projects.
Business Development Support business development projects, including market research, data collection, and competitive analysis.
Contribute to tracking industry trends, cargo volumes, and commercial opportunities.
Help prepare presentations, reports, and briefing materials for internal and external meetings.
Assist with coordinating and conducting port tours for customers, partners, and stakeholders.
EDUCATION Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university.
WORK SCHEDULE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS This position is based at our Maritime office locations in South Boston, MA.
Ability to work a 37.5-hour work week.
Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
Ability to pass Massport’s pre-employment-controlled substance test and background checks.
Ability to obtain security clearance to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
