We are looking for someone experienced, structured, and confident in representing design at a leadership level. At the same time, this is not a purely managerial role. You should be comfortable stepping into projects when needed, guiding complex initiatives, and setting the bar through example.

This role requires both strategic thinking and practical execution.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and support a team of UI/UX designers.

Set clear expectations around quality, ownership, and collaboration.

Conduct regular performance check-ins and support professional growth.

Foster a culture of accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement.

Design Standards and Process

Define and maintain high standards for UX, UI quality, and documentation.

Oversee design reviews and ensure consistency across projects.

Improve workflows for discovery, design delivery, and stakeholder alignment.

Ensure best practices in usability, accessibility, and design systems are applied consistently.

Cross-Functional Representation

Represent the design team in cross-functional and leadership discussions.

Advocate for user-centered thinking in product decisions.

Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to align priorities and roadmaps.

Identify risks early and propose structured solutions.

Hands-On Contribution

Lead high-impact or complex initiatives when required.

Support teams during critical project phases.

Provide UX direction, review flows, and ensure design clarity.

Step in to stabilize projects when quality or alignment is at risk.

Qualifications
Required

6+ years of experience in UI/UX design.

2+ years of experience leading or mentoring designers.

Experience designing complex applications or professional tools.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on contribution.

Experience building or improving design processes.

Preferred

Experience managing distributed or cross-functional teams.

Background in internal tools or enterprise environments.

Experience evolving design systems or governance models.

What We’re Looking For

A leader who sets high standards and follows through.

Someone comfortable challenging assumptions constructively.

A manager who protects team focus while supporting business goals.

A practitioner who understands execution details, not just strategy.

Calm, structured, and decisive in ambiguous situations.

What Success Looks Like

Consistent design quality across all projects.

Designers are supported, challenged, and growing.

Stakeholders see design as a strategic partner.

Processes are structured but efficient.

Critical initiatives are stabilized quickly when needed.

Why Join Lion Design Team

Opportunity to shape and mature a growing design practice.

Real influence on process, standards, and team culture.

A leadership role with room to make a visible impact.
