Position Summary
Responsible for the timely processing of insurance verifications on inquiry and referral calls. Will coordinate and process admission verifications into the hospital patient accounting system. Responsible for coordination between business office and the admission departments on all financial issues regarding admissions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Comply withall Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures andmaintaininga safe work environment.
Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals of the hospital.
Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
Works with the Business Office staff in coordination of benefits.
Responsible for verifying insurance benefits for all inpatient and outpatient admissions and for collection on monies due from patient(s).
Responsible for reconciling and preparing daily census.
Responsible for reviewing and updating all patient demographic information.
Responsible for making sure allverificationinquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented and/orentered intothe computer system.
Responsible forreviewadmission information for accuracy.
Responsible for communicating to the billingstaffall information necessary foraccuratebilling.
Communicates any admission financial issues to the Director of Business Office Services.
Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unitmilieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.
All other job responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Required: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: Somecollege;degreein healthcare orbusiness relatedfield.
Experience:
Required: Two(2)to five (5)years'work experience in business officesettingin a healthcare related field isrequired.
Preferred:
Adegree in a healthcare orbusiness relatedfield could besubstitutefor work experience. Business office work experience in a psychiatric hospital is preferred.

Clinical licensure/certification in healthcare related field preferred.
