Summary
Redwire Space Missions is seeking a
Sr. Subcontract Specialist
to join our Supply Chain team in a fast-paced, high-growth aerospace environment in Albuquerque, NM. They will become a member of the multi-disciplinary team to perform the coordination, negotiation and management of highly complex proposals and subcontracts under minimal supervision. Position requires a comprehensive knowledge of business agreements, Federal and commercial contracting methods, including policies, procedures and regulations to provide appropriate guidance and support. Where no process or policy exists, experience in drafting such guidance is highly desired.
In addition, this individual will be assisting in drafting a host of templates and job aids to improve the efficiency and standardization of subcontracting across Redwire. The candidate will prepare/review proposals, develop evaluation criteria, negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommends subcontractors, write subcontract packages for review, prepare, award and administer resulting subcontracts.
Ability to work independently, as well as manage cross functional program teams on all subcontract related issues; multi-tasking is crucial for success. Must be able to assess, prioritize, drive issues to closure and be assertive when required. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties. Exhibit best practice work habits and collaborate with other subcontract team members to promote operational excellence. Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external customers and foster and maintain good supplier relationships.
The candidate should be a self-starter who can navigate gray areas and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment, while driving standardization, processes and procedures across the organization.
Responsibilities
Build, Review, and approve compliant file documentation
Represent company as the official interface between program management and suppliers; may require travel to supplier locations
Strong working knowledge and experience administering government contracts/subcontracts. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to include Export Control Requirements (ITAR/EAR)
Prepare proposal and other business documents for execution. Examples include Request for Proposal, price analysis, small business plans, and written narrative documents related to subcontractor’s requirements and/or performance
Review and verify accuracy and completeness of proposal packages
Coordinate subcontractor proposals with internal team
Review subcontractor proposals and fact-find and negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, terms and conditions and any other contractual requirements
Prepare subcontract documents and amendments, including identification and inclusion of cascaded requirements from the prime contract ensuring terms and conditions will be appropriate
Prepare reports and contractual correspondence for project management
Monitoring subcontractor’s performance, managing deliverables and payment of invoices
Coordinating and providing advice and interpretation of contract/subcontract requirements to both internal and external customers
In concert with the Program/Technical team perform price analysis to ensure reasonableness of pricing in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Perform subcontract closeout actions, complete file documentation, and transfer files accordingly
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate and/or required
Limited travel may be required less than 10%
Ideal Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or a related field, and 5+ years’ work experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry
Experience supporting a wide range of U.S. Government and/or commercial programs
Experience managing diverse subcontractors, both large and small businesses
Experience awarding/managing diverse Subcontract Types
Communicates effectively, both verbally and written
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Excellent Organization and follow through skills, driven to excellence
Experienced working in ERP systems and data entry and analysis. Costpoint experience is highly desired
Willingness and desire for continuous improvement
Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects of competing authority and varying scope
Ability to find win-win solutions; a “make it happen” attitude
Understanding/knowledge of audits and SOX requirements
Must be US Citizen and have the ability to obtain Clearance
Salary Range $92,000 - $125,000/year

determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
