
Community Outreach Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Forge Evolution’s mission by strengthening community relationships, managing volunteer engagement, and supporting marketing and communications efforts. This position focuses on recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers while promoting Forge Evolution’s programs through storytelling, digital marketing, newsletters, and community outreach.
The Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a visible ambassador for the organization and works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners to expand program capacity, awareness, and impact.
Recruit, onboard, train, and retain youth and adult volunteers for Teen Court and Forge programs
Serve as primary point of contact for volunteers, including students, mentors, judges, panelists, facilitators, and community members
Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments aligned with program needs
Manage volunteer communications, recognition, and appreciation efforts
Support volunteer-related activities connected to Teen Court hearings, peer panels, and community programs
Provide additional assistance/backup support for trial and peer panel duties
Marketing & Communications
Manage and contribute to Forge Evolution’s social media presence
Develop and distribute a regular newsletter highlighting program impact, youth success stories, volunteers, and community partnerships
Create marketing and outreach materials using Canva and other design tools
Collect and share stories of youth, volunteers, and program outcomes
Update website and electronic media platforms as needed
Support fundraising and grant efforts through content development and storytelling
Community Outreach & Partnership Development
Build and maintain relationships with schools, courts, community organizations, and referral partners
Represent Forge Evolution at community presentations, events, and outreach opportunities
Assist with fundraising events and community engagement activities
Strengthen Forge Evolution’s public image through active and visible community involvement
Program Support & Administration
Assist with facilitation of Forge Evolution programming and outreach opportunities as needed
Support program documentation, data collection, and reporting for grants and organizational reporting
Maintain accurate records, databases, and files related to volunteers and community engagement
Complete general administrative duties as assigned
Assist with program operations as needed, excluding primary responsibility for trial management
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Degree in marketing, business, non-profit or similar or equivalent experience required
Experience working with youth and/or volunteers preferred
Required Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Social media content creation and management
Excellent organizational skills and follow-through
Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Professionalism when interacting with youth, families, volunteers, and community partners
Preferred Skills
Adobe Photoshop experience
Experience with newsletters, email platforms, or content calendars
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Ability to manage databases, records, and electronic communication platforms
Additional Requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds
Must pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting requirements
Reports to:
Executive Director
Status:
Full-Time (40 hours per week), Regular, Non-Exempt
Pay Range:
$48-55,000 per year
Schedule:
Includes two late evenings per week(Tuesdays and one additional); some weekends as needed (schedule subject to change)

Paid holidays and PTO based on years employed, Medical Insurance and Simple IRA
