Operating Room Assistant Job Ref: 34180 Category: Service & Trade Location: 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, Concord, MA 01742 Department: Operating Room Schedule: Per Diem Shift: Day shift Hours: 7-330 variable Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour Job Summary Join our Surgical Services team and play an essential role in supporting safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, Operating Room, the Operating Room Assistant is responsible for transporting patients, supporting surgical team workflows, and ensuring operating rooms are prepared and maintained. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assist with patient movement, specimen transport, room turnover, and supply management-helping ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced operating room environment. What You'll Do Safely transport patients within the operating room and throughout the hospital Communicate important patient information to the registered nurse and surgical team Assist with operating room turnover, including cleaning and preparing rooms for procedures Transport specimens to appropriate laboratory locations in a timely manner Stock, organize, and maintain inventory of surgical and departmental supplies Support general unit operations, including relaying messages and assisting clinical staff Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in accordance with infection control standards Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations What We're Looking For Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience Previous hospital or healthcare experience preferred Licensure/Certification None required Key Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing needs Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards Why Join Us?
