Overview
Bilingual (Spanish) Litigation Paralegal needed! Our client is a highly reputable plaintiffs firm seeking a litigation paralegal with its primary duties being filing motions, scheduling depositions, and requesting medical records. Need to have PI experience at some point in their career. They have a really nice, collegial team that is close knit and values long-term relationships; this is one of the nicest partners to work with. They have consistently been ranked top places to work, the ability to work on larger/more complex cases at a lower volume, 100% medical and dental premiums paid for by the firm, and new employees start at 18 days PTO and it goes up from there with seniority. They are active proponents of work-life balance. MUST be bilingual (Spanish)!
Responsibilities
Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents (pleadings, discovery, case management orders, etc.)
Assist in scheduling and preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials, including sending out notices, hiring court reporters/videographers, etc.
Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, imaging, and bills
Efile in State and Federal Courts
Correspond with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and clients
Coordinate and manage case schedules and comply with deadlines.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a litigation paralegal in a medical malpractice or personal injury environment preferred (but will look at defense side candidates)
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiar with discovery in personal injury cases.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
