Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I

As a Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I at CAE, you will support the next generation of pilots by delivering high-quality training within our ATP-CTP E170/190 program in Dallas. You will provide simulator-based and ground school instruction in accordance with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and CAE operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver instructor-led / Part 142 training to CAE customers.
  • Provide ATP/CTP ground school and simulator training sessions on the E170/190 platform.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in line with CAE standards.
  • Deliver simulator instruction for licenses, type ratings, and certifications.
  • Ensure accurate, comprehensive completion of client training records and seamless handover to other instructors.
  • Recommend remedial training when necessary.
  • Record simulator usage and discrepancies following established procedures.
  • Track and maintain personal instructional qualifications to remain compliant and current.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in curriculum and courseware development when required.
  • Accept and complete examiner-related training as assigned by the Head of Training.
  • Serve as an invigilator during examinations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Type rating on the E170/190 platform.
  • Unrestricted FAA ATP certificate.
  • At least 2 years of experience as part of an FAA Part 121 or 135 program.
  • Ability and willingness to work night shifts as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 25 years of relevant experience.
  • Successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot License written exams.
  • Meets minimum instructor qualification and experience requirements of the applicable Regulatory Authority.
  • Working knowledge of relevant aviation regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to concentrate and perform effectively in a fast-paced training environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing instructor qualification or rating issued by a Regulatory Authority.
  • Qualification meeting requirements for Simulator Instructor designation.
  • Additional A320 or B737 type rating is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Occasionally move into different positions in various environments, including confined spaces
  • Remain in stationary positions constantly, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers
