This position is located On-site at our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard

Schedule: 4x10's M - T, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pipe Welder I
This position is located On-site at our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard
Our Pipe Welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:
- Weld copper-nickel alloys.
- TIG weld in all positions.
- Work in tight areas and perform field welding as required.
- Notice improper fit up of pipe joints prior to welding.
- Mirror weld.
- Recognize different pipe alloys and rods required.
- Know and understand proper root openings required on butt weld systems and set back requirements for socket weld systems.
- Understand and utilize purging requirements.
- Understand weld sizes and types (Convex & Concave)
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- 3 years' experience as a Pipe Welder
- High School Diploma or a GED
- Pass a 6G SMAW welding test with 90 days of employment.
- Fundamental knowledge in marine or a manufacturing industry
