Corporate Communications Summer Intern

JOB OVERVIEW
The Corporate Communications Intern will support the Global Communications team in protecting and enhancing the company's brand. You will gain hands‑on experience by drafting content for internal Team Schein Members, assisting with external media inquiries, supporting executive thought leadership, and maintaining our digital presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Communications

Employee Engagement: Draft articles and announcements for the company intranet (MySchein) to keep our global team of 25,000+ Team Schein Members engaged and informed.

Culture Building: Support the promotion of corporate citizenship initiatives and Team Schein Engagement programs.

Media Relations

Press Materials: Draft press releases, media advisories, and related materials for company initiatives and announcements.

Media Monitoring: Use media monitoring tools to track daily industry trends, competitor news, and company mentions.

Pitching: Assist in building targeted media lists for healthcare and business journalists.

Executive Communications

Voice Alignment: Help draft scripts, talking points, and briefing documents for senior leadership ahead of town halls, sales meetings, industry events, etc.

Research: Conduct background research on speakers or panel topics to ensure executives are prepared for external engagements.

Social Media & Digital Strategy

Content Creation: Design and write copy for our social media channels that highlight the company's role in the industries we serve.

Analytics: Track engagement metrics to determine which types of content resonate most with our professional audience.

Asset Management: Coordinate with the creative team to ensure high‑quality visuals (photos/videos) accompany digital posts.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Writing Prowess: Ability to translate complex healthcare logistics into clear, compelling storytelling.

Professionalism: High level of discretion when handling confidential corporate information.

Adaptability: Ability to pivot quickly when breaking news affects the healthcare industry.

Tools: Familiarity with AP Style, Microsoft 365, and social media management platforms.

No experience required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION
Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

Salary Information
The posted hourly rate for this internship position is based on both your education and location. Candidates possessing up to and including a high school diploma can receive either $15 or $16/hr depending on location. This rate also applies to candidates enrolled in a college program but have not yet started those studies. Candidates currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent can receive either $18 or $20/hr depending on location. This rate also applies to candidates enrolled in an advanced, post‑graduated degree program but have not yet started those studies. Candidates possessing a bachelor's degree or equivalent and currently pursuing an advanced, post‑graduated degree (i.e., MS, MBA, JD, etc.) can receive either $22 or $24/hr depending on location.
