Registered Veterinary Technician
Mason Animal Hospital, mason, oh, United States
Your Impact as a Registered Veterinary Technician
Note: The Registered Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.
Tired of being underutilized—or treated like an assistant instead of an RVT?
At Mason Animal Hospital , we’re building a hospital where technicians are trusted to practice at the top of their license and play a central role in patient care.
What You’ll Actually Do Here
Our RVTs don’t just “help”—they actively drive patient care.
· Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia cases
· Perform dental prophys, full charting, and support treatment planning
· Run technician appointments (lab work, rechecks, follow-ups)
· Assist in both routine and complex medical cases
We are also actively training RVTs in abdominal ultrasound, with hands-on opportunities to develop this skill in practice—not just in theory.
Compensation & Benefits
· $20–26/hour, based on experience
· Medical, dental, and vision insurance
· 401(k), life & disability coverage
· Continuing education support
· Pet care discounts and additional perks
Growth, Development & Teaching
· Ongoing training in anesthesia, dentistry, and advanced diagnostics
· Hands-on development in areas like abdominal ultrasound
· Opportunities to grow into leadership or specialized skillsets
· Opportunities to teach and mentor, supporting newer team members
We believe growth isn’t just individual—it’s shared.
How the Hospital Is Structured
We’re intentional about how we build our team so RVTs can actually function at a high level:
· 5-doctor small animal practice
· Support staff structure designed to allow RVTs to focus on medical care—not just restraint and basic tasks
· Clear expectations around roles, communication, and patient care
Our Culture (FAC3)
At Mason Animal Hospital, our work is guided by five core values: Fun. Accountability. Curiosity. Compassion. Community.
What that looks like in practice:
Fun: We aim to create an environment where people enjoy coming to work—because culture matters just as much as medicine Accountability: Daily team huddles to align on the schedule and address issues early Curiosity: RVTs are encouraged to ask questions, learn new skills, and expand their clinical abilities (including training in abdominal ultrasound) Compassion: For our patients, our clients, and each other—especially on challenging days Community: A team-based approach where support staff, RVTs, and doctors work together to deliver consistent, high-quality care
We don’t expect perfection—we focus on consistent progress, learning, and showing up for each other every day.
About the Practice
