Position Summary
Are you a creative storyteller? Do you want to collaborate with a multimedia team to break down the latest in science, research and news from around the UC system? The Marketing Communications team at the University of California's systemwide headquarters is looking for a student with an interest in storytelling and science communication to create original video content for our social media channels — specifically our research video channel on YouTube, Fig. 1 (youtube.com/fig1) and the university’s Instagram and TikTok channels. This is a paid internship for the summer (and possibly beyond).

Reporting to the Director of Multimedia, the role will work and collaborate with the multimedia team, giving feedback on scripts and recording/editing video content – and assisting video editors in collecting footage, research, and making our channel accessible for all audiences. The Video Intern will get valuable, hands-on job experience using industry-leading software while playing a significant role in a large brand’s social media strategy and making connections across the UC system.
