Podcast Studio Engineer & Editor (Full-Time, Chicago)
Chicago Podcast Studio, Chicago, IL, United States
We run a busy, modern podcast and video studio working with creators, founders, and teams who care about quality content and a smooth experience. We’re looking for a full-time Podcast Studio Engineer & Editor to help run daily recording sessions and bring that content to life in post.
This is an in-person role based in Chicago. We are only considering candidates who are currently located in the Chicago area. Relocation is not available for this role.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who already has a background in videography and editing and wants to grow inside a real studio environment. You don’t need high-end production credits—but you do need to be comfortable behind a camera, confident in your editing, and good with people. We work with interesting clients, keep things professional but laid back, and value people who can take ownership without overcomplicating things.
What you’ll be doing
Running day-to-day podcast and video recording sessions
Operating cameras, audio, lighting, and studio setups
Editing long-form podcasts and short-form clips using Adobe Premiere Pro
Editing both client projects and internal marketing content
Working directly with clients in-studio and helping ensure a great experience
Keeping sessions organized, on time, and running smoothly
Occasionally assisting with events, hosted sessions, or community-based productions
What we’re looking for
A background in videography (this is a must)
Experience editing in Adobe Premiere Pro (our primary editing platform)
Comfort with video fundamentals: framing, exposure, lighting, camera operation
Working knowledge of audio: microphones, gain staging, basic mixing, and sound quality
Comfortable around professional camera and studio equipment
Able to work independently and problem-solve when things don’t go perfectly
Friendly, conversational, and professional with clients
Open to repetition and routine—this is a production environment
Curious, reliable, and eager to keep improving
Nice to have (not required)
Event production or live event experience
Community management or hosting experience
Social media management or content publishing experience
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday (Fridays & Saturdays off)
Location: In-person in Chicago most days, with occasional remote editing flexibility to Chicago (Candidates must currently reside in the Chicago area and be able to commute to the studio located on the north side of the city. We are not considering relocation for this role.)
Benefits: PTO + performance bonuses
Training and equipment are provided, but a solid foundation in video and editing is expected.
We’re a small team, which means everyone is expected to understand how the studio operates, work independently, and help solve problems as they come up. If you enjoy working with creative people, want to sharpen your production skills, and like being part of a calm but capable environment, this role is a great fit.
