
Par Distribution Tech Laundry _ Tugger

Job Purpose: Responsible for the receiving, counting, shelving, and distributing of clean linens, utilizing an effective inventory control system that tracks inventory distribution and utilization by hospital units. Providing the input data to generate usage reports and provide fiscal accountability by facility and user area.
To facilitate the transportation of clean usable linen from the Linen Room or the Uniform Room to patient and clean storage areas. Counting and packaging of linens and the distribution of the linens through cart makeup, Par distribution, and call requests.
The collection and transportation of soiled linen from Laundry chutes and other soil collection areas; back to the Soiled Holding room. Positions are responsible for the accurate documentation of paperwork, data entry, and personal productivity. Will receive on-site training overview of usage on machinery such as electronic Tugger or any electronic handheld device.
Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to meet essential job functions with or without accommodations.
1. Regular and timely Attendance.
2. Ensures that linen usage data is properly entered or documented into the current linen management system.
3. Maintains friendly, helpful, and courteous relationships with customers.
4. Distribute clean linens to each department and or stock linens exchange carts as detailed in that day's assigned operation (route).
5. Properly stock linens; neatly and in an organized manner as outlined in department training.
6. Consolidate and empty carts for reuse in the distribution or collection of soiled linen.
7. Report discrepancies in linen counts to the Supervisor.
8. Checks linen supplies throughout the shift to ensure a sufficient supply of linens is available advising the Supervisor of problems or deficiencies.
9. Receive and document Linen Requests using quality customer service skills as outlined in department training.
10. Monitors each of their assigned units for rejected or unfit-for-use items (orange bags), returning them to the Linen Room for proper handling.
11. Document their daily activities on the route sheet they are assigned to each day.
12. Ability to run electronic towing machine to move laundry from one area to the next within the confines of the hospital basement areas.
Secondary Job Functions:

2. Performs other appropriate job duties as assigned.
3. Cross-train and learn multiple operations (routes) to increase personal value and productivity.
Requirements:
1. Ability to perform basic math, understand and follow written & verbal directions, and accumulate and record data.
2. Previous experience in a Customer Service related environment.
3. Basic computer skills.
