Senior Cost Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction with a minimum of 10 years of experience in related construction fields. This position will be based out of our Boise, ID office. Preferred areas of experience include heavy civil works, including, such as bridges, dams, spillways, hydroelectric facilities, and/or environmental civil construction including stream and habitat restoration, fish hatcheries, fish passage and collection facilities, and similar works.

All Construction Division offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screen. In accordance with client requirements, security clearance is required and is determined based on background check results.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project scope, budgets, and timelines.

Review historical data and market trends to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.

Participate in bid reviews and presentations, providing detailed explanations of estimates and supporting data.

Gather details and maintain current market data to accurately estimate construction, material, and soft costs.

Prepare written documents and narratives to support the cost estimate review process by in-house review teams and clients.

Must understand the design build process and have experience working with design teams during the bid process.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

5-10 years of experience in estimating within the heavy civil engineering or construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.

Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, and familiarity with estimating software is a plus (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam).

Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Millwright

plays a vital role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.
Your Role

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery
Rigging, moving, and setting machinery and equipment on pads
Setting and alignment of baseplates associated with machinery
The alignment and coupling of machinery and motor shafts
Adjustment and installation of vibration isolation
Layout and setting of templates associated with setting equipment baseplates
Rigging and setting of machinery, pumps, equipment, and process storage tanks
Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs etc.
Move machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks
Repair and lubricate machines and equipment
Assemble machines, and bolt, welt, rivet or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools
Your Education and Experience

Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and machinery
High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
