Sr Analyst Shopper Consumer Insights

The Role:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our organization as part of our Consumer & Market Insights team. This individual should have 2-5 years' experience in an insights and analytics role. Candidate should have knowledge of POS systems, Circana or Nielsen databases, Microsoft tools and be analytically driven and a self-starter.

What you’ll do, with the assistance of an Insights Manager:

Generate weekly reports to analyze sales performance and deliver actionable insights

Provide marketplace observations & insights

Collaborate with clients to develop an understanding of their strategic direction

Compile and present clear monthly business summaries to support decision making

Collaborate with cross-functional partners at JL Buchanan to strengthen recommendations for our clients.

Interest in developing a core competency in digital analytics, social listening or review seeding.

Desire to expand analytical skills relative to qualitative or quantitative primary consumer research.

What You’ll Bring:

Strong analytical, problem-solving and story-telling skills

3+ years of relevant CPG/Retail/Digital Management experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Science (or related field)

Skilled in Circana or Nielsen Market Data

Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Solid understanding of Retailer POS databases

A passion for retail and a love of Target

Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, organizational skills and commitment to accuracy

An entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter mentality with curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development

Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization and collaborate with cross-functional team members

Positive attitude, creative resourcefulness and a team-player that thrives working in a team environment to achieve a common goal.

Bonus Points For:

Background in traditional category management support or retailer/brand insight's role

Direct Target Experience

Previous involvement with large brands and retailers

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Preferred: Exposure to syndicated data platforms, experience with category management principles)

Experience Requirements: 4–6 years' experience in relevant field

Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
