Position Purpose:
Supervises warehouse shipping activities and associates for a specific shift/area to ensure functions are performed within company and distribution center guidelines. Provides excellent customer service to stores serviced through accurate handling of inbound product.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Provides direction and proper motivation to ensure the daily workload is completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Maintains a positive presence on the floor throughout the shift.
Supervises all warehouse functions.
Completes appropriate paperwork and reports as required.
Provides new hire and follow-up training for all employees.
Performs job evaluations and communicates results to employees.
Evaluates work performance of personnel regarding promotions, absenteeism, commendations and disciplinary action.
Communicates with other members of management and departments to ensure that goals are accomplished.
Maintains a safe, clean work environment. Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and regulations regarding fire and other potential emergencies
Job Qualifications:
Possess strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations, with prior work experience to include lead person or supervisory duties.
Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
Basic computer skills required, and personal computer experience helpful, with word processing and spreadsheet applications
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret computerized reports.
Good judgment is required for this position, as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
