General Purpose of Position
The Web Experience Manager is the principal web administrator of the National Ministries UCC, providing subject‑matter expertise on all web platforms and websites. This position leads ministry and team involvement in webpage redesigns, iterations and migrations, combining quantitative data and qualitative insights to optimize users’ web experience. It coordinates requests for web and digital updates, manages the National Ministries United Church of Christ digital properties, and serves as the primary customer support specialist for UCC Everywhere, the digital marketing program that helps churches with their digital offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain NMUCC websites to ensure an excellent user experience and optimize performance for digital marketing results.

Collaborate with the Philanthropy Team for all web giving portals, driving a unified interface across all web platforms.

Manage the denomination’s CMS, including template preparation, deployment, and creation of instructional resources and best practices.

Provide training and workshops on CMS, educating staff and editors on editing, formatting, content improvement, and tool usage.

Ensure that all pages on www.ucc.org and other NMUCC sites meet brand standards, including language, themes, design, and policy.

Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in building a skilled, innovative, execution‑focused, agile, and data‑driven team and web infrastructure.

Execute strategic priorities established by leadership and contribute to team goals.

Collaborate with web content editors to make content updates when needed.

Provide full professional website support, respond to change requests, and assist stakeholders with web and digital requests.

Administer the NMUCC Everywhere Digital Marketing Program, including customer support and marketing plan development.

Lead the strategy, development, optimization, and intake processes for the UCC Everywhere website platform, partnering with stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Communicate and assess technology capabilities and needs in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

Balance organizational goals with technological limitations and opportunities across software, hardware, CMS, and web servers.

Oversee day‑to‑day content updates and maintenance, ensuring all content, images, forms, and web pages function properly.

Develop standard operating procedures with stakeholders for website digital updates and adjacent projects.

Maintain clear communication and partnerships with MarCom and all relevant internal and external teams.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of organizational goals and technology capabilities to accomplish those goals.

Minimum Qualifications

A college degree in computer science, digital media, visual communication design, information technology, web design or a related field, or equivalent experience.

At least 5–7 years of experience in the digital industry covering brand, digital, and web experience with digital communications platforms, content management systems, and constituent communications providers.

Experience maintaining and creating website content in multiple mediums (text, images, video, multimedia) in enterprise or multi‑brand environments.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, content/graphic asset creation, implementation, publishing, web administration, and CMS at an enterprise level.

Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to UCC Everywhere customer inquiries.

Experience empowering tech‑savvy team members with diverse skills.

Competency in web policy and digital workflow procedures.

Skill in managing information and converting data into appropriate web language.

Problem‑solving with excellent communication skills; responsive and dependable.

Understanding of analytics.

Strong phone and email contact handling skills and active listening.

Creative, willing to learn, and flexible.

Ability to prioritize workload and take direction.

Desire and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious settings with a commitment to pluralism.

Understanding of the polity and structure of the United Church of Christ.

Willingness to travel, including occasional international trips.

Position Requirements
This position is based in Cleveland, OH and requires 3 days per week in the office on a hybrid schedule.
