Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems, and HVAC units.Monitor and adjust utility systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on piping, pumps, valves, and related components.Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical failures in utility systems.Maintain proper water treatment and filtration systems to support food safety and processing operations.Work closely with the maintenance team to support production operations and minimize downtime.Document maintenance activities, system readings, and any corrective actions taken.Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and food safety regulations relevant to utility operations.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and Freon-based units.Qualifications & Requirements:High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or boiler operations preferred.Minimum 2+ years of experience working with industrial utility systems, preferably in a meat processing or food production facility.Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (RETAs certification preferred) and Freon-based systems.EPA 608 Certification required (or ability to obtain).Knowledge of boiler operations, air compressors, water treatment, and refrigeration support systems.Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational manuals.Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety protocols.Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, lift heavy equipment, and respond to on-call emergencies as needed.Work Environment:Exposure to industrial utility areas, including high-pressure systems and temperature variations.Some overtime, weekend shifts, and emergency on-call duties required.
