Job Summary
Central Design Engineering provides high-quality, cost-effective, on schedule Electrical design services for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. Central Design Engineering is responsible for providing requested modification packages to the Nuclear Fleet. Electrical design control is maintained through effective configuration management of design output documents (e.g., specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements, and procedures).

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Prepare cost-effective modifications as assigned to improve plant performance and reliability.

Prepare engineering products consistent with defined standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure the site’s design and licensing basis is maintained.

Assist in solutions to issues that impact safe, reliable operations and propose process changes that improve overall efficiency.

Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other fleet organizations.

Manage Electrical engineering work assignments to ensure the design service provided meets department and organizational needs.

Communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas to all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing, throughout engineering product development.

Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform the required group functions.

Evaluate radiated emission effects for electromagnetic and RF emissions on plant equipment, and evaluate susceptibility of components and devices.

Implement configuration controls for electrical systems and components.

Conduct licensing activities such as 10CFR50.59 reviews, applying electrical‑specific considerations.

Coordinate electrical design activities with plant simulator personnel to ensure accurate reflection on the plant reference simulator.

Evaluate effects of plant design changes on simulator operation, fidelity, configuration, and certification.

Determine preventive and predictive maintenance requirements for systems and equipment.

Test and validate systems and components.

Develop system and component life‑cycle strategies and plans.

Manage multiple complex projects.

Minimum Requirements
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or another closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Experience

Engineer I: 0+ years

Engineer II: 2+ years (1+ year with master’s degree)

Engineer III: 4+ years (3+ years with PE/master’s degree)

Engineer Sr: 6+ years (5+ years with PE/master’s degree)

Engineer Sr Lead: 7+ years (6+ years with PE/master’s degree)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous experience in Operations IT, Design or Systems engineering teams implementing engineering modifications. (Desired)

Proficiency in computer codes supporting Nuclear Design (ANSYS, ETAP, ME101, PipeFlo, MathCad, PDMS). (Desired)

Desired Certifications
Professional Engineering license and/or an SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.

Location and Travel
Primary Location: Louisiana-Killona, Louisiana: Killona
Travel Percentage: up to 25%
