PLANT SYSTEMS OPERATOR

Deseret Power is an electrical utility serving Utah and surrounding states. We have an excellent job opportunity for a Plant Systems Operator at our Bonanza Plant, a 500 MW coal-fired generating station, near Vernal, Utah.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient startup, shutdown, and normal operation of the boiler, turbine, generator, and plant auxiliaries by monitoring equipment temperatures, pressures, lubrication, etc. and insuring proper equipment operation. The Plant Systems Operator is also responsible for placing clearance boundary tags on equipment to be worked on, and cleaning of assigned work areas.

You must be a High School graduate, with good mechanical aptitude, and be willing to work rotating shifts.  You must be willing to work as a team player and promote the company vision. You must be able to meet deadlines under pressure during unit start-up, shut-down and transient conditions. Experience in a coal fired power plant is preferable but not required.
