Description

Salary Pay Range: $20.75/hr.-$26.42/hr.
Essential Functions:
Provides administrative support for the behavioral health staff by courteously meeting and greeting individuals presenting themselves to the clinic.
Obtains basic client information pertinent to behavioral health services. Ensures records contain current history and physical information.
Schedules client appointments using computerized scheduling software program.
Verifies client demographic data, directs them to client registration for updating information.
Records client information regarding missed appointments, cancellations, maintains client confirmation calls, and checks clients in upon arrival for appointments.
Monitors waiting area.
Verifies client eligibility for services, checks for current documentation of insurance.
Ensures client confidentiality.
Operates as a mandatory reporter.
Provides clerical support for medical clinic staff.
Orders and maintains office and departmental supplies.
Prepares correspondence, copying, faxing; takes and routes accurate and timely telephone messages.
Provides secretarial and administrative support to the behavioral health staff.
Operates standard office equipment; computers, faxes, multi-line phones and copiers/printers.
Ability to provide excellent organizational skills and compassionate front desk services to clients.
Usher clients to behavioral health rooms as needed.
Attend initial behavioral health trainings, learn, and acquire knowledge on key concepts surrounding managing client crises, strength-based communication skills, and topics discussing trauma.
Follows OSHA guidelines.
Maintains frequent contact with clients.
Contacts other departments/programs to coordinate client care.
Assists with external collaboration with outside agencies to support the behavioral health department.
Assures the behavioral health department is well stocked with supplies and is clean during the day.
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
Requires a high school diploma/GED equivalency.
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the secretarial field preferably in a behavioral health setting.
OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
Must maintain a valid Oregon driver's license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe's vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
Requires First Aid and CPR certificate, or to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Accurate spelling, reading, proper use of English language.
Native American employees preferred; knowledge of Native American culture preferred.
Requires proficiency with office equipment including: fax machines, copy machines and multi-line telephones.
Six (6) months abstinence from alcohol use (if recovering person).
Interview candidate selection is subject to review of certain healthcare guidelines, such as ensuring the chosen candidate does not have multiple roles and/or relationships with clientele being served.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture required.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40 pounds.
Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.

Required Education: High School or better.
