Plant Operations Technician
Location: Fond du Lac, WI Schedule: MondayFriday | 3:00 PM 11:00 PM On-Call: Yes
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Plant Operations Technician I to support the safe and efficient operation of facility and power plant systems. In this role, you'll monitor equipment, respond to facility issues, and help ensure critical systems remain operationalespecially during emergencies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with HVAC and maintenance experience who takes pride in quality work and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and adjust facility equipment and power plant machinery according to established procedures
- Oversee emergency power units and support emergency operations
- Perform power plant restarts following defined protocols
- Respond to facility trouble calls, troubleshoot issues, and complete necessary repairs
- Monitor off-site properties and coordinate with appropriate staff or contractors as needed
- Utilize computerized building automation systems to resolve issues
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and situational awareness
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems
- Experience as a maintenance technician

Education & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs)
- Frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and data entry
- Ability to see near and far distances and hear alarms and machinery sounds
- Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and repetitive movements
- Rare driving and use of smell
Certifications
- No professional license or certification required
Job Summary:
Operates and performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems, boilers and power plant equipment. Assists with complex and non-routine maintenance tasks.
