Summary of Position
Host responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. The role requires solid organizational and people skills to ensure a positive dining experience from arrival to departure, and the ability to work shifts and maintain a clean work area.
Duties & Responsibilities
Welcome guests to the restaurant with a smile.
Provide accurate wait times, monitor waiting lists and manage guest reservations.
Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas.
Provide menus to guests and announce server’s name.
Greet customers upon departure.
Coordinate with management about available seating options by updating table statuses on the tablet regularly.
Maintain a clean reception area and host stand.
Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly).
Answer incoming calls and address customer queries.
Assist management or server staff when necessary.
Physical Demands
Must be in good physical condition to walk or stand throughout the shift.
Extensive walking, standing, bending, and reaching required.
Grasping and fine manipulation using hands required.
Ability to work up to 8-10 hours per day.
Other Requirements
Must have a current food handler’s card, RBS card (if over 18 years of age).
California workplace harassment training and/or any additional training required by law.
Compensation
$16.50 per hour
