SUMMARY: This position involves working in the Snac Shac, office and program aide and general assistance throughout the camp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.

Work in the snac shac when assigned.

Keep inventory of supplies in snac shac and let supervisor know when supplies are needed.

Check in campers' money to Snac Shac bank during registration of each camp.

Keep record of campers' money spent at Snac Shac.

Assist with Snac Shac money return at the end of each camp.

Make sure snac shac is cleaned each day. Trash removed and floor swept.

Deep clean snac shac at the end of each camp.

Keep Snac Shac eating area clean and trash emptied.

Assist with office work and programming as requested.

Light housekeeping duties as assigned.

Participate in the total camp program when appropriate and as long as primary duties are not neglected.

Participate in all staff meetings and devotions.

Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the position.

Summary/Primary Purpose: This position will do whatever is necessary to make the summer camping season successful. If need be this person will act as a counselor being in charge of all the campers within their cabin. They are charged with being a positive Christian influence for each of their campers. Responsibilities include developing the camper's social, physical, intellectual, vocational, emotional, and spiritual strengths through group living experiences and personal interest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below the counselor will adhere to and enforce all camp policies, procedures and safety regulations, always making camper safety a priority. They will also know where the campers assigned to them are at all times while on campgrounds or on off-camp field trips.

Attend general staff training week, and read all material mailed prior to training week.

Provide leadership and direction to an assigned group of campers in daily activities, which include, but are not limited to:

Present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the campers by conducting devotions, prayer time, and Bible class. Be available to provide spiritual direction to the campers as needed and record all accounts of a young person accepting Christ or requesting prayer.

Instruction/guidance in cabin cleanliness and care of property.

Instruction/guidance in personal hygiene.

Instruction/guidance on table manners and conduct in the dining hall

Guidance/Discipline to campers on an as needed basis according to the policies and procedures.

Overnight camp-outs and other pioneering activities.

Attend and participate in all scheduled activities, programs, staff meetings, devotions, and meals unless otherwise directed.

Prepare and conduct or assist with, activities, classes and programs as assigned.

Assist in camp clean-up at the close of each camp, in preparation for the next group. Assist with camper check-in and check-out.

Inspect and assure that your assigned cabin is clean, safe, and in good repair. (Complete maintenance requests and return to the office).

Successfully complete the Salvation Army Safe From Harm training, the ARC CPR and First Aid Training or be able to supply documentation of previous and current certification.

Supervise health issues that may arise with your campers, including knowing which of your campers require medication and reminding them to see the Camp Health Officer as needed. Maintain cabin first aide kit (seek replenishment from Health Officer).

Responsible for essential functions of secondary position (see additional job description).

Education and/or Experience: Minimum one year of college preferred and one year preferred previous experience working with children in any setting. Will provide on the job training

Summary/Primary Purpose: Serve as a liaison and resource for Western (WST) division in the areas of Salvation Army youth programming, community center programs, before and after school, day camp, The Salvation Army Outdoors (TSAO) and other programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as the divisional youth ministry resource for Community Center Programming, Teen programming, Vacation Bible School, and TSAO.

This role is responsible for aiding Corps Officers and Youth Leaders to promote growth in youth ministry for the Western Division.

Provides technical assistance to WST Corps for the development and implementation of programming, as directed.

Maintains social media communications and Youth Department website, as directed.

Provides Corps resources for Before and After School and Day Camp Programs as well as researches and provides information in the licensing policies / laws for the communities in which the Western Division operates.

Performs required annual review of Community Center and Day Camp programs.

Facilitates programs at Western Plains Camp in South Sioux City, NE during the summer camp season.

Assist DYS with various projects, to include coordinating and scheduling divisional and youth reviews and tasks such as routine correspondence and requests.

Assist with major events and seasonal programs as directed.

This position may require attendance after normal business hours and may also include weekends and holidays.

This role may be required to be part of the residential summer camp staff during the week and helps with weekly registration day.

Driving is an essential function of this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises summer camp staff, as needed and directed.

Education and/or Experience: Associates Degree (AA) or 3-5 years of programmatic or youth ministry experience.
