Adjunct Professor - Animation: Entertainment and Game Art Design

Position Summary
Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is seeking an adjunct professor to teach on-campus, 15-week, face-to-face sections of 2D and 3D animation classes as assigned and capacity allows. An occasional online or hybrid section may be assigned. This professional training program uses industry software, with the goal of preparing graduates to be competitive and job‑ready in the animation and digital media professions.

The successful applicant will teach Integrated Lecture Lab courses equivalent to 5.1 workload hours, may serve as a substitute professor, and perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty. Duties include collaborating with full‑time and adjunct faculty in the Animation department and other assigned responsibilities.

Location: JCCC, Overland Park, KS.

Required Qualifications

Associate of Applied Sciences in 2D and 3D Animation with 3‑5 years of direct industry experience in animation (minimum requirement).

Demonstrated experience with industry‑specific software including Maya, ToonBooth Harmony, Z-Brush, and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Ability to work within a college curriculum and schedule, following syllabus guidelines and level‑appropriate assignments for the program.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in 2D / 3D Animation.

3 or more years of direct industry experience.

Previous college teaching experience.
