Role Summary
The Design Drafter will support the engineering team by creating and maintaining designs, layouts, drawings, and documentation for Plastic Ingenuity's projects. This role will develop and maintain uniform CAD standards, digital file repositories, and applicable specifications to achieve satisfactory client services. The Design Drafter will collaborate across functional teams to support facility planning, plant maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
Accountable for
Creating and maintaining standards, drawings, and specifications
Preparing plans, drawings, models, specifications, and technical documents using CAD software
Processing preliminary design data for various design document stages
Collaborating with Facilities Management, project managers, vendors, and cross-functional business units
Preparing and maintaining event layout and site plans
Utilizing existing CAD standards to update and maintain site, building, and infrastructure as-built drawings
Performing field measurements to validate existing conditions
Recommending upgrades and revisions to internal procedures and practices
Maintaining organized records of drawings and related documentation
Completing required documentation on design changes and electronic storage of drawings.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Technical Drafting or equivalent work experience
Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite
1-2 years of industry experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Available for 20% travel
Desired Qualifications
Background in design or engineering
Strong project management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior
