Computer‑Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Specialist (Intermediate)
Location: National Capital Region, Washington, D.C.
The Computer‑Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Specialist (Intermediate) provides design and drafting services supporting facility planning and execution, including furniture layouts, signage, graphics, and sustainability requirements. This role supports LEED certification and commissioning efforts and serves as a Subject Matter Expert for facility sustainment and space management systems.
Responsibilities
Provide computer‑aided design and drafting services for facilities and interior spaces.
Develop furniture layout plans based on program requirements.
Coordinate ongoing furniture placement, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and circulation standards.
Confirm spatial dimensions and incorporate final layouts into Construction Documents.
Coordinate electrical and network requirements for offices, workstations, conference rooms, and multi‑purpose spaces.
Support design of signage and graphics in coordination with facility requirements.
Support Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and commissioning activities.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Sustainment Management System (SMS) Builder, Builder (BRED), and EquipMapper.
Coordinate with system engineers to integrate SMS Builder with TRIRIGA systems.
Support interfaces connecting SMS Builder calculations to the Real Property Inventory (RPI).
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and facilities teams to ensure accurate design implementation.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Degree / Education / Certification
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification and Commissioning or equivalent.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience providing computer‑aided design and drafting services, including:
Furniture layout and planning based on program requirements.
Coordination of furniture placement and spatial compliance with codes and circulation standards.
Inclusion of furniture layouts in Construction Documents.
Coordination of electrical and network requirements for office and conference spaces.
Experience supporting signage and graphic design efforts.
Proficiency with computer‑aided design tools and drafting software.
Strong coordination skills across engineering and facilities disciplines.
Knowledge of facility sustainment and space management systems.
Attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
Ability to support sustainability and LEED‑related initiatives.
Required Citizenship and Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active Secret clearance (must be able to maintain).
