CADD Design Technician- Structural/Bridge

Position Summary
Our Transportation Team is seeking an experienced CADD Design Technician in St. Louis, Missouri. The final candidate will have a stellar track record in bridge and structural projects, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative mindset. Responsibilities include applying advanced CAD techniques and developing complex structural and bridge layouts and design drawings using 2D or 3D CAD software to meet company and industry standards and codes. The candidate may also serve as a Lead Designer on small to medium‑sized projects.

Responsibilities

Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare complex layout and design drawings using theoretical and practical design knowledge.

Perform complex drafting tasks efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team.

Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.

Use advanced software to complete assignments.

Work closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs.

Meet layout requirements and develop alternate design layouts as needed.

Prepare reinforcing details, bar schedules, and bill of materials.

Assist in inspections of existing bridges and other structures under construction.

Review supplier data and supplier drawings, as required.

Develop and review orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.

Perform checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Provide input and technical guidance for mentoring lower‑level designers.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute (or equivalent).

10+ years of related structural and bridge drafting experience.

Proficiency in Microstation ORD/ORB and AutoCAD.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and/or Bluebeam.

Strong time‑management, leadership, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.

Located in or near St. Louis, Missouri.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $75,000 to $118,000 (paid hourly based on hours worked). Additional compensation is determined by location, skills, experience, and education.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off (17 days per year), seven paid holidays, caregiver leave, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Legally mandated benefits are also provided.
