Saint Joseph's College of Maine is accepting applications for the position of GRADUATE ASSISTANT - ATHLETICS CREATIVE MEDIA !
POSITION DESCRIPTION : The Graduate Assistant will support Saint Joseph’s College Athletics through creative storytelling and brand promotion by assisting with social media management, photography, videography, graphic design, content creation, and digital engagement efforts that highlight teams, student-athletes, coaches, and departmental initiatives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assisting with Social Media and Digital Content
Assists with the planning, creation, and execution of social media content for Saint Joseph’s College Athletics accounts;
Produces engaging content for game day, final scores, student-athlete features, award recognition, recruiting support, and special events;
Assists with writing captions, scheduling posts, and maintaining a consistent and professional departmental voice across digital platforms;
Helps monitor social media engagement and identify opportunities to increase reach, interaction, and visibility;
Assists with live social media coverage during home and away athletic events as assigned;
Helps maintain brand consistency across all athletics social media platforms.
Assisting with Photography, Videography, and Storytelling
Captures photography and video content at athletic contests, practices, team events, media days and departmental functions;
Assists with editing photos and short-form videos for use on social media, the athletics website, and other promotional materials;
Helps develop creative content that tells the story of Saint Joseph’s College Athletics and showcases the student-athlete experience;
Assists with photo organization, selection, and archiving for department use;
Supports the creation of promotional videos, highlight clips, interviews, and feature content.
Assisting with Graphic Design and Brand Promotion
Assists in creating digital graphics for schedules, game day promotions, results, milestones, awards, and special campaigns;
Supports promotional efforts for major athletics initiatives, postseason competition, senior days, Hall of Fame events, and alumni engagement opportunities;
Works collaboratively with coaches and staff to generate content ideas that enhance team promotion and department visibility;
Assists with special creative projects that support athletic recruiting, marketing, and storytelling initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be matriculated in a graduate degree program at Saint Joseph’s College before the actual start date for the GA position
Remain in good academic standing (including a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate progress toward a degree)
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK ANTICIPATED: 0-20
A Graduate Assistant may not exceed 20 hours per week in their GA position. A GA may work concurrent employment off-campus with prior permission from the supervisor providing the assistantship, with the primary consideration being that the additional hours do not compromise the student’s academic progress or their assistantship responsibilities. GAs are not permitted to work additional assignments; beyond their GA position, at SJC.
TIME REQUIREMENTS : Available for 20 hours per week
REQUIRED TRAINING (upon selection for GA position) : Video Display Terminal Training
