POSITION SUMMARY: This position is for an electronics, electrical or design engineer with experience in PCB layout, circuit design, and prototyping. The Mistras ART program designs and builds Automated Radiographic Testing (ART) inspection robots for the inspection of pipelines and infrastructure. This engineer or developer will be tasked with designing the printed circuit boards based on mechanical and technical specifications and writing or assisting in the generation of firmware used to operate these robotic systems. The Mistras ART lab is currently based in Anchorage, AK. A relocation package may be available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and verify PCBs for autonomous robots.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers and software developers.
Create schematic diagrams and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools.
Select appropriate electronic components to ensure reliability and performance.
Test and troubleshoot PCB prototypes, refining designs as needed.
Document design processes and technical specifications.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in PCB design and circuit development.
Familiarity with CAD tools.
Knowledge of embedded systems and sensors used in robotics.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with autonomous robots or robotics systems.
Knowledge of power management, motor control, and wireless communication.
Hands-on experience with prototype testing and debugging.
