
Communications Associate

Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and digitally savvy Communications Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for an energetic early-career professional who is passionate about storytelling, content creation, and building meaningful connections through strategic communication.
The Communications Associate plays a key role in shaping and sharing our organization’s voice across platforms—supporting marketing initiatives, digital engagement, internal communications, and brand consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling
Write and edit engaging content for websites, blogs, newsletters, social media, and print materials
Develop compelling stories that highlight community impact, programs, and people
Assist in drafting press releases and school announcements
Digital & Social Media
Create multimedia content (graphics, short-form video, photography)
Maintain social media account(s), including content calendars and scheduling
Monitor engagement metrics and provide performance insights
Assist with launch of new school website and then regularly updating content
Live-stream or record school and athletics events
Brand & Internal Communications
Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials
Assist with internal communications initiatives
Maintain organized digital asset libraries
Mentor & Support
Serve as an academic advisor to a small group of students
Communicate regularly and effectively with families and colleagues
Be Part of the Residential Community
Participate in residential life one weeknight per week and one weekend per month
Engage meaningfully in student life, activities, and community-building
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field
1–3 years of relevant experience (internships included)
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Experience managing social media platforms professionally
Familiarity with email marketing tools and content management systems
Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills
Photography and/or video editing experience
Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights)
Experience working in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations
