Job Summary Job Description The IT SAP Architect is a pivotal role, bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions that maximize the value of Medline’s investments in SAP. This individual collaborates closely with both business and IT leaders, aligning technology initiatives with business strategies. The Architect leads in providing analysis and design to implement business solutions, governs the development of high-quality technology solutions for Medline’s SAP landscape, and ensures the delivery of expected outcomes during project execution. This role also involves maintaining project, program, and team alignment with architectural governance, standards, and best practices, with a special focus on SAP-centric design, integration (BTP), transformation (ECC to S/4HANA), and application modernization in the Cloud. Core Responsibilities Technical Design Leadership Lead detailed technical design across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes. Translate functional requirements into scalable SAP technical architecture designs. Define solution blueprints including data models, integration flows, security controls, and performance considerations. Validate configuration, enhancement strategy, and development approach prior to build execution. S/4HANA Transformation & Modernization Support ECC to S/4HANA technical conversion activities including custom code remediation. Assess and redesign legacy enhancements to align with Clean Core architecture. Drive technical readiness for Brownfield or Selective Data Transition strategies. Optimize standard SAP capabilities over custom development where feasible. Architecture Governance within SAP Domain Review and approve SAP solution designs before development begins. Ensure alignment to defined SAP standards, integration patterns, and security controls. Document architecture decisions and maintain domain-level reference patterns. Provide design oversight during build, testing, and deployment phases. SAP BTP & Extensibility Architecture Design side-by-side extensions using SAP BTP services including Integration Suite, SAP Build, RAP, and HANA Cloud. Define clear in-app versus side-by-side extension strategy aligned to Clean Core principles. Provide hands-on architecture guidance for Fiori applications, CAP or RAP services, and workflow automation. Ensure DevOps enablement and transport governance across BTP landscapes. Integration Architecture Execution Design and govern SAP Integration Suite solutions including CPI, API Management, and Event Mesh. Lead migration from SAP PI/PO to Integration Suite. Define API contracts, canonical data models, and error-handling frameworks. Ensure high availability, monitoring, and observability of integration flows. Collaboration & Delivery Oversight Partner closely with SAP Functional Leads, Integration Architects, and Development teams. Provide technical direction to onshore and offshore SAP build teams. Participate in design workshops, code reviews, and architecture validation checkpoints. Support production readiness and hypercare activities. Technical Skills & Expertise SAP Platform Expertise Deep expertise in SAP ECC and S/4HANA architecture. Strong knowledge of SAP data structures, enhancement frameworks, and transport management. Experience with ABAP, ABAP Cloud, RAP model, CDS views, and Fiori architecture. SAP BTP Expertise Hands-on architecture experience with SAP Integration Suite. Experience with SAP Build Apps and Process Automation. Knowledge of HANA Cloud, Datasphere, and BTP security model. Understanding of multi-environment landscape design and CI/CD pipelines. Integration & API Expertise Experience designing REST and OData APIs. Understanding of event-driven architecture patterns. Knowledge of SAP-to-non-SAP integration strategies. Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization capability. Business Process Knowledge Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Forecast-to-Deliver, and Record-to-Report domains. Ability to align SAP technical design with end-to-end business process execution. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. 8+ years of SAP technical architecture experience. Proven experience leading technical design within SAP transformation programs. SAP certifications in S/4HANA, BTP, or Integration Suite preferred. The anticipated salary range for this position: $134,000.00 - $201,000.00 Annual The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold. Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
