Job Description
The Regional Editor, Metals Recycling – The Americas, will lead a team of price reporters, develop and execute the regional strategy for metals recycling markets across the Americas, and contribute to the global strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Uphold the integrity of our prices and serve as a role model for the Fastmarkets price development process.
Build trust and drive usage of IOSCO‑compliant price reporting, ensuring the team adheres to all pricing methodologies and audit processes.
Adopt and drive the LEAP (Launch, Elevate, Attack, Protect) approach to price development and engagement campaigns.
Coach the team and collaborate with Editorial Operations to continuously improve content quality and delivery.
Lead market engagement activities (meetings, events, roadshows) to drive price adoption and share insights with stakeholders.
Manage the regional team’s schedule to ensure coverage during leaves or travel, coordinating with other teams as necessary.
Oversee pricing and editorial work strategically to support each other and maintain high standards.
Coordinate cross‑functional, cross‑department, and cross‑regional collaboration to break down silos and enrich content or pricing coverage.
Work with editors to facilitate staff development and retention, maintaining a positive culture and Championing Fastmarkets’ MAGICC values.
Support recruitment and talent development within the pricing team and across Fastmarkets, promoting cross‑commodity and cross‑discipline moves.
Key Interfaces
Report directly to the Global Editor, providing strategic input and contributing to cross‑functional initiatives.
Manage price reporters to implement Fastmarkets’ PRA approach.
Collaborate with other editors and the price development team on prioritising price benchmarks, products and market coverage.
Engage with industry participants to gather insight, gain feedback, and promote price quality.
Work closely with Editorial Operations to ensure content aligns with PRA strategy and style guidelines.
Coordinate with the Market Development, Strategy, Marketing, Product and Events teams to promote prices and content.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Strong background in pricing markets and journalism with knowledge of metals recycling markets.
Comprehensive understanding of using Fastmarkets’ prices as benchmarks; experience with high‑pressure benchmark markets is welcome.
Track record of strong leadership skills, including planning, motivating, delegating and achieving results through others.
Experience recruiting, training and mentoring a pricing/content team to meet and exceed standards, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and providing feedback.
Experience in market engagement, organising or overseeing roadshows, webinars, external meetings and speaking at events.
Ability to manage a budget, prioritise resource use and make tough decisions to achieve efficiencies.
Ability to operate at high levels internally within a matrix structure and with external stakeholders.
Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with clear, coherent communication.
Support risk and compliance in audit activities, ensuring team familiarity with review processes.
Innovation and creativity skills to foster a culture of innovation and generate new product ideas.
