Manager, Applied AI Scientist
Location: Hybrid – Atlanta GA
The Manager, Applied AI Scientist leads the organization’s applied artificial intelligence research, product innovation, and technical strategy. This role is responsible for guiding all AI research activities, advancing new machine learning initiatives, and ensuring alignment with both industry advancements and business objectives. The Manager supervises and mentors a multidisciplinary AI team—including PhD-, Master’s-, and Bachelor’s-level researchers and engineers—while fostering a culture of scientific excellence, practical innovation, and product impact.
Responsibilities Responsible for all AI research that will be conducted by us. This means: Supervise other research going on
Conduct new activities
Monitor the latest in research and industry related to machine learning and AI.

Manage the AI team. All AI researchers and engineers report to this role, including PhD, Master’s, and B.Sc. individuals.
Represent Bentley in customer meetings and industry events related to machine learning and AI.
Assist the Senior Director with all AI activities within the Assist management group and Bentley overall.
Oversee AI products and components generated by collaborate.center (Talon, TalonView).
Physical requirement: sit or stand while performing work on a computer.
Qualifications PHD in data sciences, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence.
Strong AI experience with preference for work in: Visual Machine Learning, including images, 2D and 3D visual data.
Large Language Model knowledge, working experience and research, especially visual LLMs.

Experience with graph neural networks and tabular data ML/AI.
Experience building AI-based products.
Experience handling data-challenging AI scenarios, such as data scarcity and imbalance.
Managing research and product teams, including PhD and master’s level experts.
Published scholarly work and professional accomplishments.
