Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor - Admin Job at Fort Mill Medical Center in York

Serves as the on-site administrative representative for the hospital on assigned shift: Manage, administrate and coordinate activities of Patient Care Services during assigned shift to ensure activities are consistent with Nursing and Organizational objectives, policies and procedures. Functions as a clinical and management resource. Serves as throughput coordinator: Assesses bed availability. Assigns rooms. Communicates with multidisciplinary departments internally and externally. Gathers and enters appropriate data into computer and PreAdmit Tracking for presenting admissions, observations, transfers and discharges. Maintains effective communication and public relations with patients, medical staff, staff and visitors. Communicates as necessary with all departments to coordinate efforts, resolve operational problems, maximize patient throughput and improve patient care. Responds to all emergencies and coordinates nursing and administrative functions during an emergency i.e. fire, disaster, bomb threat, etc.; directs personnel as outlined in the disaster plan. Evaluates the quality of patient care through unit rounds, patient interviews, quality monitoring and direct observation of employee compliance with hospital policies, procedures and organizational objectives. Participates in day-to-day managerial decisions and operations, such as interactions with physicians, personnel related duties and interactions with other departments. Participates in the management functions of Patient Services Division; serves on committees as assigned; assists in development and implementation of division goals, objectives and budgets.
