Job Summary (How You Will Make an Impact)

The Warranty Quality Technician manages end-to-end warranty claim processing and returned-product evaluations. This role partners closely with Quality, Customer Service, and RGA teams to support the timely disposition of returns, share findings, and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities (What You Can Expect in This Role)

Safety & Environmental

Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (minimum: safety glasses and steel-toed shoes).
Handle chemicals and SDS-listed substances in accordance with OSHA and site requirements.
Demonstrate strong personal safety practices, awareness of others, and environmental stewardship.
Verbal & Written Communication

Contribute to authoring, revising, and maintaining quality documentation (e.g., SOPs, change controls, deviations).
Use computers and systems to retrieve drawings/documents and verify information (e.g., JDE, Propel).
Soft Skills

Strong team player with clear communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Demonstrates collaboration, integrity, customer focus, confidentiality, and a commitment to quality.
Able to make sound decisions within defined scope; seeks guidance when needed; works well with minimal direction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

2-year degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field; or equivalent military, trade school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of applicable experience in metrology, instrumentation, calibration, quality inspection, or a related manufacturing quality role (preferred); equivalent on-the-job training/quality experience (4+ years) may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Ability to process and track warranty claims/returns and document findings clearly and accurately.
Ability to read and follow product specifications, drawings, and inspection instructions.
Comfortable using computer systems to retrieve documents and verify information (e.g., ERP/PLM systems such as JDE and Propel).
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow PPE and chemical-handling requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with RMA/RGA processes, returned material disposition, and warranty eligibility decisions.
Hands-on experience with inspection/testing/diagnostic tools and supporting root cause analysis.
Experience performing first-piece, in-process, final, and incoming inspections.
Ability to train or coach others on inspection procedures and quality expectations.
Basic knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and SPC (or willingness to be trained).
Education & Certifications

2-year degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field; or equivalent military or trade school training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in metrology, instrumentation, and/or calibration is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit; stand and/or walk for prolonged periods.
May occasionally be required to pull, lift, or move up to 50 pounds.
May require working holidays, weekends, and overtime based on manufacturing operations.
