Purpose:
Responsible for performing specialized cable splicing work for ITG's construction operations, ensuring high-quality connections in both coaxial and fiber optic networks that meet industry standards and client specifications. This role is critical for maintaining network integrity and service quality in telecom infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Perform skilled splicing for coaxial and/or fiber optic cables according to industry standards and client specifications.
Test connections using specialized equipment to ensure signal quality and network integrity.
Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and work orders to complete splicing projects accurately.
Maintain precise documentation of completed work including splice locations, tests performed, and quality results.
Identify and resolve issues that may affect cable integrity or signal quality.
Follow safety protocols and proper procedures for underground and aerial work environments.
Maintain splicing equipment and tools in proper working condition.
Collaborate with construction crews and supervisors to ensure project completion.
Complete splicing work within specified timeframes to support project schedules.
Stay current with evolving splicing techniques and technologies through ongoing training.

Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification:
Technical certification in telecommunications, electronics, or related field preferred
Training:
Specialized training in cable splicing techniques highly beneficial
Experience
2+ years of experience in telecommunications cable splicing
Experience with both coaxial and fiber optic splicing preferred
Background in telecommunications construction beneficial
Exposure
Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and specifications
Understanding of cable network architecture and signal transmission
Experience with splicing equipment and testing tools
Familiarity with safety protocols for construction environments
Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position
Technical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a construction team
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and sit
Ability to use hands to handle or feet

Ability to maintain all safety expectations
Ability to operate equipment controls for extended periods
Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrain types
