
Summer Intern Asset Management - Central Office, Hayward

Position Summary
This position will involve learning about the Asset Management of affordable housing communities through real‑life experience with Eden Housing’s portfolio in California. This will include hands‑on experience with financial analysis, property rehabilitations, refinances, funding applications, compliance and reporting, and Investor Limited Partner exits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review and analyze property financial reports and rent rolls
Assist the Asset Management department with affordable housing compliance and reporting tasks
Assist with updating the housing choice voucher master list in Excel with information from new Housing Authority letters
Assist with due diligence checklist items for refinances and/or investor buyouts
Research and report on general Asset Management, Real Estate, and Sustainability topics
Assist with document review and updating database and trackers for deadlines, key metrics, and other pertinent information
Assist with general administrative duties, as assigned
Attend meetings on project and portfolio strategy
Attend property site visits
Assist with other Asset Management department duties, as assigned
Actively participate in our culture of inclusivity
Must have access to reliable transportation to travel during the business day to Eden properties, training sites, and retail stores
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to give full attention to the needs of the department and actively look for ways to assist
Desire and ability to learn new skills
Preferred Skills and Abilities
PC literate; knowledge of basic computer Internet use and applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Good communication (verbal and written), decision‑making and evaluation skills
Experience working with diverse groups
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Language, Math & Reasoning Skills
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
