
Laboratory Student Intern

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Must be enrolled in or graduated from a higher education program in a discipline related to laboratory work.
Licensure/Registration/Certification: NA
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Microsoft Office suite of products

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Previous healthcare/laboratory related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates strong analytic skills and confidence in decision making.
Demonstrates ability to work collegially with internal and external contacts.
The intern will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Essential Duties
(80%) – Effectively execute specimen collection tasks and specimen processing with attention to detail, including:
Perform phlebotomy procedures for patients of all age groups.
Accurately interpret lab orders and utilize EMR functionality.
May perform non-blood specimen acquisition collection.
May process specimens with attention to detail.
Ensure precise patient identification.
May educate patients on self-collection procedures and supplies.
Deliver high‑quality customer service.
(20%) – Other duties as assigned.
