Duties Description
Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Technology (DCT), within the Division of Dedicated Support, Sector C, the Manager of Information Technology Services 2, SG-29, will act as the Business Solutions Director (BSD)/DevSecOps lead for the Workforce Dedicated Team. This position will oversee projects, day‑to‑day operations, maintenance of legacy systems, management of products, infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, and continued delivery of ongoing application needs. This position will supervise subordinate state and consultant staff.
Specific Duties Shall Include But Are Not Limited To
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the application development teams and facilitate product support and development activities.
Implement standard release and deployment management principles and SDLC for deployment management activities for Workforce Dedicated Team products.
Oversee the re‑write of Workforce Dedicated Team applications in technologies such as .NET to reduce legacy dependencies as dictated by the technology roadmap.
Responsible for the implementation version control for Workforce Dedicated Team applications.
Oversight of Data Warehouse and improvement of the security footprint across various software products and platforms.
Oversee procurement and contract management for vendor‑led systems and projects.
Identify risks and propose potential remediation solutions to management.
Communicate regularly with other team managers, agency management, and other impacted stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to existing internal controls, policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
Collaborate and actively participate with other ITS teams on problem resolution.
Mentor and guide management team and their staff.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties.
Qualifications
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 2, SG‑29, OR in a position at the SG‑27 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades or one M‑grade.

Additional Comments
ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non‑immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid‑Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
