Role Summary
The Design Engineer operates at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering, translating design into code‑first prototypes. This role focuses on implementing the design system, building reusable components, and ensuring high‑quality, consistent user interfaces across the product. The Design Engineer will also own the setup and evolution of AI‑enabled design workflows, connecting design tools (Figma) with code tools (Claude Code) to accelerate prototyping and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
UI Implementation

Translate product requirements into code‑first prototypes

Ensure visual and interaction fidelity across systems (from Figma to code)

Design System

Implement and maintain reusable UI components

Support rollout of the design system across the product

Set up and maintain Figma Code Connect

Establish workflows between Figma and the frontend codebase

Ensure design components map cleanly to production components

AI Workflow Enablement

Set up and manage Figma MCP + Claude workflows

Enable code‑first prototyping from design inputs

Support the team in using AI to generate and iterate on UI

Partner with Product Design, Product, and Engineering

Quality

Maintain consistency and polish across product UI

Identify opportunities for reuse and efficiency

Qualifications

2–5 years experience in frontend, product design, or hybrid role

Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)

Familiarity with design systems and component‑based development

Interest in AI‑assisted design and development workflows

Comfortable working cross‑functionally

At Midi Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The estimated salary range for this role is \$135,000–\$175,000 per year, based on factors such as experience and skills. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a wide range of benefits and equity in the company.
