Overview
The VP Finance Controller will serve as a key financial steward, responsible for building scalable accounting operations, driving financial transparency, and supporting private equity reporting requirements. This executive will lead global accounting teams, implement best-in-class systems, and ensure the company is prepared for future liquidity events.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead the global accounting function from the ground up, establishing policies, procedures, and controls across all regions
Partner with the CFO and private equity sponsors to develop financial strategies aligned with value creation goals
Drive finance transformation initiatives to support rapid growth, scalability, and operational efficiency
Reporting & Compliance
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entities
Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements
Lead external audits and ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory obligations globally
Implement and maintain internal controls, with a focus on SOX readiness and IPO preparation
Private Equity & Investor Relations
Support private equity reporting requirements including board packages, covenant compliance, and KPI dashboards
Collaborate with FP&A to deliver investor-grade financial insights and performance analysis
Participate in strategic initiatives such as bolt-on acquisitions, carve-outs, and exit planning
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing global finance team
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics for the controllership function
Systems & Transformation
Lead ERP implementation or optimization (e.g., NetSuite) to support multi-entity, multi-currency operations
Evaluate and deploy automation tools to streamline accounting and reporting workflows
Integrate financial systems post-acquisition and ensure seamless consolidation
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification
15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles in global SaaS or technology companies
Experience in a private equity-backed environment, with a strong understanding of investor expectations and value creation levers
Proven success in building finance functions for new or rapidly scaling companies
Deep expertise in US GAAP, international accounting standards, and multi-entity consolidations
Experience managing finance operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC
Preferred
IPO readiness or public company experience
M&A integration and carve-out experience
Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Cybersecurity or enterprise software industry experience
