
Pavement Collection Operator

ESP Associates, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our Pavement & Asset Inventory team. This is a great opportunity to travel, see areas of the country that you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, and grow your career with a dynamic Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm!
The selected candidate will be responsible for collecting pavement assessment data and mobile LiDAR data collected from a vehicle platform.
This position involves extensive in and out of state travel. Benefits include out of town meal/lodging expenses, overtime opportunities and competitive pay.
Working Conditions
Extensive Travel
Per diem and hotel covered
Minimum 30 days and up to 45 consecutive days at a time
Day Shifts
8 to 12 hours per day (hours typically range between 6 AM and 6 PM)
Night Shifts (rare)
8 to 10 hours per day (hours typically range between 8 PM and 6 AM)
Driving/working inside a GIS data collection vehicle between 8 to 12 hours per shift
Alternate driving and equipment operation duties with team member throughout each shift
Responsibilities
Safely drive a data collection vehicle and/or operate advanced software and equipment
Work fluently with advanced software for collection and exporting of pavement assessment and mobile LiDAR data
Achieve daily mile goals
Qualifications
Computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills
Ability to read maps and use navigation software
Must be goal‑oriented and able to meet assigned deadlines
Ability to work closely with peers and managers to achieve established goals
Must be reliable, dependable, and responsible
A positive work attitude with the desire to learn
Must be willing to travel throughout the United States and Canada for extensive periods of time
Must be detail‑oriented to follow established mission plans, processes, and procedures
Good communication and teamwork skills
Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred
Any level of education in Surveying / Geomatics, Civil Engineering, GIS, or related field
Knowledge of the following software: Trimble Business Center (TBC), RiPROCESS (RIEGL), ArcGIS, and Google Earth
Experience/understanding of survey and GIS practices
