Operator, PRN
Assumes responsibility and accountability for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. Operates the hospital PBX system to route calls appropriately and efficiently. Facilitates emergency code notifications and overhead paging in accordance with hospital protocols. Performs various communication and clerical support duties. Possesses a willingness to be cross‑trained and float to other areas or departments as operational needs require.
Qualifications
Education: High School or GED Diploma required.
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience as a PBX operator or related environment; 3‑years preferred.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge, excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail‑oriented and organizational skills required. Basic medical and hospital terminology knowledge is also required.
