Job Summary
Provides direct support in the daily operation and supervision of the assigned facility. Oversees on‑duty student facility personnel, security, risk management, equipment set‑up and breakdown, and customer service operations. Serves as a primary liaison with all facility user groups and assists in decision‑making in the absence of full‑time facility staff.

Key Responsibilities

Assists with shift duties, including overseeing, delegating, and documenting the attendants working within assigned areas.

Maintains daily facility operations, security, and risk management, such as providing emergency care, performing building inspections, and reporting door issues.

Supports the operation and mission of the department/division by completing additional tasks as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator of assigned areas.

Produces reports and forms including Shift Reports, Facility Work Orders and Accident Reports.

Assists with the orientation and oversight of assigned students.

Assists in other program areas assigned.

Acts as a point of contact for facility and group reservations.

Performs activity space event setup and breakdown.

Performs excellent customer service concerning departmental facilities, programs, and services.

Responds to inquiries concerning departmental facilities, programs, and services in a timely and professional manner.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum six months of relevant work experience, or at least one year of student employment experience with a focus on facility management.

Ability to work closing shifts several evenings a week and follow closing procedures.

Ability to articulate and enforce departmental policies and procedures.

Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and meet assigned deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with KSU recreation facilities, programs, and services.

Undergraduate or advanced degree in a related field.

Knowledge of ADA compliance, fire safety, and facility emergency action plans.

Knowledge of point‑of‑sale procedures, producing reports, and verifying deposits.

Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, problem‑solving, organization, communication, time‑management, and presentation skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.

Strong customer service skills and phone/email etiquette.

Compensation
Budgeted amount: $15.00 per hour.

Other Information
This is a supervisory position; it does not involve financial responsibilities, driving duties, or a purchasing card requirement. Travel is expected 1% – 24% of the time.

Background Check
Final candidates will be required to consent to a criminal background investigation. Background checks required include a credit report and standard enhanced background check.
