
Union Assistant Engineer-2nd Shift (Kansas City, MO)

About The Role
As a CBRE Union Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment.
This is a 2nd Shift position 3:00 - 11:30 PM, Mon‑Fri, with some overtime and travel required. The location will be in Kansas City, MO.
What You’ll Do
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
Review assigned work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs; use available systems to track completion.
Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
Inspect new or existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work; deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems and exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
Impact the team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job‑related experience; in lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
The candidate must be a current member of the Local Union.
Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
