Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

About The Role
We are currently seeking a solid BI Engineer who has expertise in both back‑end data processing technologies as well as building cutting edge data visualizations to provide self‑service actionable analytics products. This position will play a key role in the design and development of a cloud‑based Data Intelligence and Analytics services.

Your Area of Focus

Lead and Innovate: Help lead the design and development of scalable, efficient, and user‑friendly BI solutions across the organization, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.

Advanced Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models, data flows, and processes to support high‑quality reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence solutions.

AI‑Enhanced Insights: Integrate and develop AI‑driven modeling, such as semantic layers, AI “cortex” frameworks, predictive analytics, and automated feature generation into BI architectures to elevate data accessibility, accelerate insight discovery, and enhance decision‑making across the business.

Platform Optimization: Ensure the performance and scalability of BI tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and Snowflake, by tuning data sets and providing recommendations for improvements.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business leaders, product teams, and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, and help define reporting and analytics needs.

Complex Reporting & Dashboarding: Design, implement, and optimize complex reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and actionable insights for various business functions.

Cross‑functional Leadership: Work closely with data engineers and application developers to integrate and fine‑tune data sources feeding BI platforms.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to BI platforms, data inconsistencies, and reporting inefficiencies.

Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to improve the BI tools, processes, and standards in place. Suggest and implement best practices for data handling, visualization, and reporting.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain thorough documentation for BI solutions, ensuring clear communication of processes, technical architecture, and solution designs.

Mentorship & Development: Provide technical mentorship to junior team members, helping them develop their skills in BI technologies, data analysis, and reporting best practices.

Thought Leadership: Contribute to strategic planning and decision‑making around BI tools, data architecture, and analytics infrastructure.

Your Professional Qualifications

Education: BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data engineering, or analytics, with at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Snowflake.

Advanced Technical Skills: Expertise in BI/reporting software (Power BI, Tableau), strong SQL knowledge (T‑SQL, PL/SQL), and experience with big data technologies.

Data Architecture & Modeling: In‑depth understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. Ability to design data flows and pipelines for complex BI systems.

Statistical & Analytical Knowledge: Proficient in data analysis, statistical techniques, and study design. Familiarity with control charts, significance testing, and experimental design.

Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead complex projects, collaborate effectively with business and technical teams, and communicate complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Problem Solving & Optimization: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to optimize BI solutions for performance and efficiency.

Industry Knowledge: Experience working in industries with large‑scale data infrastructure (Healthcare, Finance, Tech, etc.) is a plus.

Certifications: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Tableau, or Power BI certifications are highly preferred.

Benefits
Tebra offers a competitive and fair compensation package. Our pay range for this role is $101,000 USD - $115,500 USD for Zone 1 (National Average). In addition to base compensation, eligible employees can receive variable pay and a robust benefits package.
