Data Engineering Manager
Enzo Tech Group, Florida, NY, United States
Data Engineering Manager
We’re partnered with a leading U.S. healthcare organisation currently undergoing a major data transformation, and they’re looking for a Data Engineering Manager to play a critical role in that journey.
This is not a “keep the lights on” role. This is an opportunity to step into a function that needs rebuilding, take ownership, and shape what great looks like moving forward.
The Opportunity
You’ll inherit a data engineering team that isn’t currently operating at the level the business needs and your mandate is clear:
Elevate performance
Improve delivery speed
Build a stronger, more capable team
Help guide a transition from legacy systems to a modern data platform
Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in an upcoming data platform transformation, moving away from a traditional SQL Server / SSIS environment toward a scalable, cloud-based architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and develop a team of data engineers, improving output, standards, and accountability
Identify gaps in capability and help shape the future team structure
Drive improvements in how data is ingested, processed, and delivered across the business
Work closely with senior stakeholders to align data engineering with business needs
Support the transition to a modern cloud data platform (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, Databricks)
Reduce reliance on legacy processes and improve overall data accessibility
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading and scaling data engineering teams
Strong background in SQL-based environments (e.g. SQL Server, ETL/SSIS)
Exposure to modern cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
Ability to balance people leadership (≈70%) with technical credibility
Experience improving or rebuilding underperforming teams is a big plus
Healthcare experience is helpful, but not essential
Why This Role Stands Out
Genuine transformation mandate — not BAU
Opportunity to rebuild a team and make a visible impact
Involvement in a major platform modernisation decision
High level of ownership and autonomy
Backed by leadership who recognise the need for change
Role Details
2 days onsite Clearwater Florida
Contract-to-hire
